Home Office Reset

Well, I have spent the last week or so working on my home office, and I have to say that I am more than pleased. I love the way it turned out, even if I felt like I was going to die a couple of times. OK, maybe that’s a slight exaggeration, but let me tell you that weight loss is no joke with Wegovy. There were a few times where I did a little too much physical labor and it made me feel very sick to my stomach.

The good thing is, and it would be even better if I could remember it, if I get into the position where I am nauseous, eating a little protein helps a lot. I’ve been taking Wegovy for about a month, and I’ve lost about 12 pounds, so it’s worth the hassle. It is much better if you don’t let yourself get too hungry, and if you prioritize protein. And yes, lean protein is best; too much fat also makes me a bit nauseated.

How it started

Anyway, the office is coming right along. If you recall, this is what it looked like when I started.

How it’s going

And this is what the room looks like now.

My home office now

I am already in love with it, even though I know that I’m going to have to do some work on what’s in each container. I am loving the clear containers in the Kallax unit, but I would love to make them look more organized.

I may decide to add a couple of Kallax units on top of what I already have, creating an entire wall of storage. I also need to get the television mounted to the wall, but I don’t think I’m going to be able to do that myself.

I am loving everything about this room!

Of course the pups have beds in here, but they still prefer the floor

The television will eventually be wall mounted, and I will be moving my monitors and other equipment into the office when that’s done

Up next, kitchen reset

After I have completed the office, the next area of the house I want to tackle is the kitchen. Last weekend, we moved the second fridge to the garage and put a shelving unit in the laundry room to hold small kitchen appliances.

Obviously, this was taken during the shuffle; it isn’t clean but it’s functional!

There is so much to be done in the kitchen, I can’t even tell you how bad it is. The kitchen table is covered in things we bought during the holiday season for the kitchen, which was stupid because we really didn’t have a place to put all of it. But now that I’m moving the small appliances to the shelving unit in the laundry room, I will be able to get everything organized and put away.

I’m going to take the time to clean all of the cabinets, inside and out, as I work through the reorganization. My hope is that by the end of the process, my kitchen will be better laid out, well organized and super clean. So I’m a couple months early with the Spring cleaning; it needs to be done one way or the other.

I really do not recommend doing what I did when we moved into the house. Do not move at a time when you have zero ability to get everything put away and organized from the very beginning, because this has been a less than ideal way to live for the last four years.
